Grace Shelton

U.S. Consul General in Karachi

Ms. Shelton started her career as a lawyer in Savannah, Georgia, and worked as a clerk for a judge in Georgia. She studied law and international affairs at Columbia University and got her bachelor's degree from Bucknell University. She's from Durham, North Carolina.

Before, she worked as a Consul General in Bermuda and had assignments in Slovenia, Nepal, Belarus, Malaysia, and Washington DC.

Ms. Shelton took over from Brian Heath as the U.S. Consul General in Karachi in 2014.

The U.S. Consulate in Karachi is big and important, with lots of staff and resources. It's part of the U.S. mission in Pakistan, reporting to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.
