Sindh’s festival for languages,
literature and heritage

About SLF Sindh Adabi Melo

A festival for Sindh's languages and literature

It started in 2016

Journalists Naseer Gopang and Zohaib Kaka started Sindh Literature Festival in 2016 to give Sindh's writers, languages and ideas a public stage. Each year since, writers, scholars, artists, journalists and students have met in Karachi for talks, readings, music and books.

Sessions run in Sindhi, Urdu and English. Some look back at history and heritage. Others are about new books and what's happening in Sindh today.

The first edition, at Beach Luxury Hotel in 2016, drew about 9,450 people. By 2023 the festival was drawing about 95,000.
